Virtual Communion, Sermon and Music for Palm/Passion Sunday 5th April 2020

April 5, 2020

Introduction to the Virtual Communion, Sermon and Hymns/Songs

This is a very different post from those have appeared here in the past. This post is a virtual Communion Service for the Palm Sunday (Passion Sunday). The text for the service appears in the video below. This is still a new departure for me and my ministry team, so please let me know how we are doing, and offer tips on how we can get better. You can do this by posting a comment on this blog (these will be public) or by emailing me privately at

These services will be posted each Sunday at 8am. In addition, each Wednesday at 5pm I will also be posting a service of Compline (Night Prayer).

If you want to be sure not to miss these services, please subscribe to this blog and you will be sent emails with links to each service. To make the picture larger go to the bottom right of the video, and click on either the Click “YouTube” or the small square box.

Updates and resources for during this crisis are posted on the following website:

After you have joined in with the virtual Holy Communion, please listen to the sermon for today, recorded by The Revd. Sue Auckland. There are also recordings of hymns and songs chosen for this Sunday available at the end of this post (look out for two sung and accompanied by our own Tim).

God bless, Nigel.

Thanks Nigel, Tim, Sue, John and Ann; these services are a great comfort. Keep going!

    • Thanks for the encouragement, it is really appreciated. This is something new for us and it feels a little like stepping out in the dark.
